Sammendrag

The article discusses the recent development in the Norwegian debate on media policy in light of the findings from a national survey among journalists and editors in November–December 2013. Addressing the attitudes on media regulation among journalists and editors in light of the recent development in the Norwegian market, the result shows massive and wide-spread support for the current press subsidy system among Norwegian journalistic professionals. There are only small differences in the attitudes if we compare journalists´ workplace and medium. The editors, however, tends to be more uncertain in their support of the system than regular journalists.
Key words: press policy, press subsidy, role of journalists
