Sammendrag

BARS-Movement Harmony is a physiotherapeutic assessment method with focus on observation of movement harmony and the patient’s total movement pattern. Patient’s dynamic balance and movement pattern during simple everyday movements are described, systematised, arranged and constructed into a measuring tool. Postural stability, free breathing and awareness in movement are the focus for the assessment. The assessment is included in 12 variables directed at the patient’s relationship to the ground, the midline, the body centre, free breathing and awareness. The patient’s experience of the movements is particularly emphasised. The assessment is based on ten years of developmental work involving many colleagues, students and patients. The report includes a description of the theory behind the assessment and seeks to interpret and explain the praxis of the French movement therapist Dropsy.
